MirkaDesign - My very first interview!

Who is MirkaDesign*?

As you might know already I design, create and sell my products under MirkaDesign* brand. But what does this brand mean to me? Who is MirkaDesign* to me? 

For me MirkaDesign* is not only HAND-MADE SHOP but it is ALSO:

** a little Escape WORLD :) ......................................................

Yes, It is my little world of sewing where I relax and hide from “real” world sometimes. I live my dreams here and share them with others. And it is also  place where I keep myself busy (what is very important and necessary for waggy person like me! ;o) hehe 

** YOU ..................................................................................

Why? Because you give me energy and motivation to create new stuff, to go for new ideas. Positive customers feedback is the best engine for running any kind of business. I am so thankful for all your support, comments and advises!

** LOVE .................................................................................

It is easy to love your hobby. But sometimes it’s hard to be loved by someone with your hobbies! I am very lucky and happy that I have very understanding boyfriend – Jozef, who also helps me with creating process, with graphic design, pictures and videos. Without him MirkaDesign* wouldn’t be where it is now. It wouldn’t probably exist!


MirkaDesign* will celebrate 2 years in March this year. And I would like to share some pictures and videos of my work studio -  the place where all the magic of MirkaDesign* happens! Heh!

Here you can see photos of my “working station” – my little sewing kingdom!

My two little babies - an overlocker and a sewing machine. And I am proud to say that I became mum of three last Monday when I got another brand new sewing machine! Wooohoo! :)

The treads holder is also good stand for my headbands! :)

I use guest bed as a large working table. 

I am sorry guys but if you ever decide to visit us you need to keep your clothes in your suitcase because guest wardrobe is full of various fabrics, my projects, materials, books and magazines. There is no chance to squeeze something inside :-/    

Here is my little posting station, where I prepare all packages for shipping. My friends - kitty, Totoro and unique fabric dog supervise my work every day!

Little discoveries!

I think the best motivation for Etsy sellers is when they get 100% positive feedback from buyers. I am proud and happy for the fact, that I have been given only positive feedback by my customers so far. That's what gives me energy and motivation to create new products. It makes me go for new ideas, for new challenges, ..

Introducing*

Blog "made.by.me" has been created for my design presentation. I love fabrics and I love to sew. I grew up around sewing as my mum used to create a different kind of beautiful and original clothes for her and myself.

I am an administrative clerk in my day job so sewing has become my creative escape. I try to create different and original things so each product is individually made by me from the pattern creation to final product. All my products are 100% hand-made. I am inspired by my surroundings, my family, friends, nature and the rich textures of everyday life.
