Geometric necklaces - bow tie alternative PART 1

I became bored of all accessories that I have. When I go buy some new ones I always fine same stuff in all shops. Repetition of "style". Boooring!! I wanted something original and something that describe me. Style I like is of course simple lines, geometric pattern, nothing complicated. So here is what I came up with.

I combined bits and pieces of quality leatherette and create something like bow tie alternative. Now I can bring life to a boring single color shirt or any plain top. It is very easy to make and you can do it yourself, but If you don't have time or don't feel like doing something, you can also order same in my shop. This one is listed here

Another necklace very similar to the first one. It is very simple to make. It's all about combining right colors and shapes together and that's it! Here is link to this necklace if you like it.

The necklace above is my favorite. It goes well with plain black shirt. You can find more details here

Vivid colors like Yellow can add very nice finish to your outfit. This necklace  is a combination of quality yellow, black and white leatherette and there are also white studs in the middle with tiny black and yellow freckles. For more pictures, info and price please click here .

This diamond shape necklace goes well with collars, but it also look nice on a loose top:

If you like these you might also like my whole range of geometric accessories. Feel free to visit my shop.
Thank you!

DIY Origami Rug

I always get excited to find any new Origami  DIY project on Pinterest and can't wait to dive into it. Last time I did  Felt Table mats and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to do something similar but in a bigger scale. So.. Here it is .. The Origami rug!

At the time I didn't realize that doing this project in bigger format will take weeks/ maybe months? I usually started at evenings after dinner while watching TV. I didn't have to concentrate as this requires repetition of the same thing on and on again. I felt like a machine! But I enjoyed doing it and I think the result is great, I love my new carpet in our dining room.

My little helper likes it too!

Below are couple pictures from work in progress. If you want to try to give a go, please visit this amazing blog  'How about orange' where you can download pattern and follow easy steps.

I have chosen different material rather then felt this time. I used thin carpet, which wasn't probably great choice as it wasn't easy to fold or cut, but at the end it is a carpet so I wanted to go for something durable. If you use felt you will have to reinforce  it with some heavy duty iron or sew on underlay.
Pattern and step by step can be found  here
What you can see below took me about 6 evenings to finish. Yes, there is a lot of cutting, folding, and cutting again involved but I am sure you will love the result of your work at the end, like I did.

If you find any more interesting origami projects, feel free to share here. I can't wait to make more. Thank you for reading :)

Geometry inspired Fashion

As you could read in my post from November, I love origami influenced fashion as well as geometry inspired fashion.  Do you remember drawing all those various shapes at school, such as triangles, rectangles, diamonds, hexagons or circles? Honestly Math and Geometry weren't my favorite subjects but now I just love to see all those geometric shapes on fabrics or dress patterns! No matter if you choose a tight dress or lose shirt, as long as it has some geometric design, it will surely look great this season!

Rider pink leggings $60.00

I have chosen few items inspired by geometry from my shop too. You have probably seen these already!

Triangles geometric print clutch $32.00

Studded Leather zippered pouch $48.00

Circle print closure clutch $32.00

Ivory Polygon 3D printed fold over clutch  $39.00

What do you think about Geometry in Fashion? Do you like it personally?

IVORY fold over clutch

The latest MirkaDesign* bag is called IVORY. As you know Ivory is a soft neutral colour that isn't quite white and has some of the earthiness of light browns. Ivory represents quiet, pleasantness with a touch of lustre.

I think IVORY is a very convenient and calming colour which you can combine with almost everything.

What makes this clutch different from others is material. It's made from durable felt backed vinyl, it's beautifully structured, waterproof and very light!

It closes with a zip in same tone. The bag is fully lined with 100% cotton.
Visit my shop and find out more! .. And.. don't forget to enter a New Year's giveaway!

Black artificial leather clutch with pyramid studs

This clutch was made for Viki - an amazing food & lifestyle blogger (check out her great blog here). She was looking for a clutch in a kind of punky style but also decent and practical. She wanted a small clutch which would also be used as a laptop sleeve..

The clutch measures approx. 35 x 25 cm and it closes with a zip. I used black artificial leather, black heavy cotton fabric for lining, metal zip and metal gun pyramid studs. All material is available online, mostly on e-bay.

I am planning to do few similar clutches in following days. I will keep you updated!

If you have some tips how would you improve this clutch, how to make it better or if you would like to own similar clutch please leave a comment!

Fabric Origami Bracelet - my new craft project!*

I have always been fascinated in origami craft, especially origami in fashion. It is great to get an amazing object after following a few paper folding steps. Some origami are very easy to follow, some are not that easy but it is always fun  to create something from small piece of paper. This time I tried to transform this amazing paper craft to a little bit different level. I used a fabric instead of paper. It took me a while to find good fabric which doesn't gape too much and keeps folds together. And I think I found it! Here is the result!

This bracelet adds a sparkle to any outfit!

The bracelets look great in pair too! You can get 15% discount for your entire order if you order more than 1 bracelet in my shop

Please leave me a feedback! Do you like the bracelet?

PURSE* - my latest sewing project!

I was looking for a purse which would fit all the necessities of life into one convenient package. I wasn't very happy with what I found in local shops :( One was too small, the other one was big enough but the style or colors weren't great, .. So then I asked myself why don't you create one by yourself ??? At first I liked the idea but after few hours of measuring, cutting, sewing, sweating and coursing I realized it wasn't such a great idea ... BUT I did it finally and here is the result! Hope you like it :)

I have designed this purse in a way that will comfortably fits my cash, cards, mobile phone and whatever else I need to put inside. So it has become clutch more than wallet heh :)

I am planning to make smaller version of this purse and display it in my shop. I might change fabric and style slightly. If you have any ideas & advises  how to improve it please leave a comment!
